Classroom libraries are the heart and soul of elementary classrooms. Research shows that the most important factor in a child’s reading development is the access to quality literature, so it is well worth the effort to create your own classroom library!
At first, organizing a classroom library can be intimidating. Start small then expand a little each year as you can afford the time and money for your classroom library. Use points from Scholastic Book Club sales to buy books. Let parents and teachers know you would love donations to your library. Some teachers have written grants for books.
